‘My boyfriend and I were in a long-distance relationship and during a period of time that we were separated I wrote Say That You Love Me. I was reminiscing about the early days of when we first got together, one night out we had in particular. We were with a group of friends at a nightclub, and after a couple of drinks one of my friends was telling my boyfriend he needed to tell me he loved me already (as we hadn’t said the “L” word yet)

All the feelings of anticipation, excitement and waiting that I felt at the time, I put into this song! I recorded the track at Studios 301 with producer Jhay Cabrera with the intention of wanting to make a super feel good, upbeat, danceable and bubble-gum pop track!’

We had the chance to interview Felicity Light for our 6 Questions segment, here’s how it went!

Hey Felicity! Thank’s so much for chatting with us today. Congratulations on the release of Say That You Love Me! Can
you give us more insight on what the song means to you?

Thank you guys so much for chatting with me! This song means a
lot as it’s a track written about me wanting that special someone to
hurry the hell up and say they love me! My boyfriend and I were in a
long-distance relationship and during a period of time that we were
separated, I wrote Say That You Love Me. I was reminiscing about
the early days of when we first got together, one night out we had in particular. We were with a group of friends at a nightclub, and after a couple of drinks one of my friends was telling my boyfriend he needed to tell
me he loved me already (as we hadn’t said the ‘L’ word yet)!

What inspired you to start making music?

I always knew I needed to perform. I knew I would pursue a career
in the entertainment industry and growing up I was always
songwriting. I didn’t pursue songwriting seriously until I had
something all-consuming to write about, falling in love! I was
experiencing all these new emotions and just had to write them
down and turn them into songs.

What’s the best life advice you’ve ever been given that you
would be down to share?

To be unapologetic with what you want and to have the courage to
back the vision you have for your career.

If you could collaborate with any artist dead or alive who
would it be?

The OG pop princess, Britney Spears! I have looked up to her my
whole life, watching her have hit after hit, pushing boundaries and
constantly reinventing herself. I can’t imagine how fun it would be to
perform with her!

Which emotions did you feel when writing Say That You
Love Me?

I knew I wanted to tell this story of anticipation, excitement and
waiting but that I also wanted to make it a super feel good, upbeat,
danceable track! So I was experiencing all the feelings I went

through on the night that inspired the song but also was uplifted
because it’s such a bubbly and happy melody.

What can we expect from Felicity Light in 2021?

I’ve been in the studio recently writing some new material and have
had the opportunity to work with some amazing female songwriters.
I’ll be releasing my next single in a couple of months and it will be a
co-write which is really exciting as this is my first time collaborating
with another writer.
