FK Dame is a Montreal based Alternative Hip-Hop Artist known for his raw inner voice, lyrics and hard hitting melodies. FK ULTRA is about letting go and the fear that comes with being alone. It’s about overcoming that fear for the better. It’s also about toxic relationships not just physical and not just with another person but like with anything. If you indulge too much it’s not going to be good. You need balance. We had the chance to talk to FK Dame about his new album FK ULTRA
Q1) Hey FK Dame, thanks for joining us on 6 Questions With Renegade! Congrats on the release of ‘FK Ultra’ — tell us, what was the main inspiration behind this album?
The inspiration came from a massive build up of emotions internally. I found myself in a really dark place this year. I didn’t know how to deal with it. The only thing I could really do was express myself through music. I guess that’s where the inspiration came from. Darkness. Loneliness, and the need to let that shit go. This album just became my outlet for everything. I also just wanted to push myself. see what i could really achieve if i put everything into it.
Q2) What is your personal favourite song from FK Ultra, why?
My personal favorite? It’s Hard to Tell. Pun intended hahaha. When I was writing that song It was just me alone, I think it was actually the first song off the project I wrote. It kinda started it all. It was the first time I really decided to dig deeper, face my fears of being judged and give a piece of myself to everybody. TTPA too I love that song, I think it’s my most versatile work to date.
Q3) If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?
Idk, I’m really into collaborating with female artists right now though. I think I just vibe more with female energy. Especially in a sonic environment. I think 070 shake x Rico Nasty x FK Dame would go crazy. That’s a collaboration I can see.
Q4) What kind of reaction are you hoping to receive from your fans in regards to FK ULTRA?
I’m just hoping it connects with people. I really tried to make something that people can go back to whether it be a month or a year later and enjoy it as much as they did when they first heard it.
Q5) When it comes to creation of music, who do you draw your biggest inspirations from?
Melody. I love melodies. . Artists like Kid Cudi, Kanye West, drake. These types of artists… I also played a lot of metal growing up. The rawness of it…. I think when something Is over produced it loses itself in the mix.
Q6) What has been the most memorable performance of your career thus far and why?
When I was just starting out like in high school I had put together this EP. Did the cover art, printed it, ran CDS, recorded everything. Through that I was able to perform for this artist KYLE. At the time he went by superduperkyle. It was crazy though I was like 16 maybe 17 opening up for like 150 people. I remember getting off stage and thinking damn…. I could do that shit every fucking night.
